How to Keep Your Baby Cool and Comfortable During Hot Summer Nights

Ensuring your baby sleeps comfortably during hot summer nights can be a challenge. Here are some practical tips to help keep your little one cool and safe:

Give Them a Cool Bath

A warm bath is typically perfect for relaxing your baby before bedtime. However, in the heat, try giving them a cool bath instead. Make it quick to avoid them getting chilly.

Use a Thermometer

Monitoring the temperature of your baby's room is crucial. It should be between 16°C and 20°C while they sleep. Placing a thermometer in your baby's room can help you decide if you need to adjust the temperature before putting your baby down for the night.

Use a Summer Sleeping Bag

Baby sleeping bags are ideal for keeping your baby safe and comfortable during the night or a daytime nap. Our Slumbersac designs regulate their temperature, ensuring they don't get too hot or cold while they sleep. During the warmer months, use a summer sleeping bag, which is sleeveless and lightweight. Our summer options are available in two togs (1.0 and 0.5). If you're unsure which tog is right for specific temperatures, check our tog guide for advice.

Help Your Little One Relax Before Bed

We all know how difficult it can be to sleep on a muggy night. It’s easy to become frustrated or agitated in the heat, so making sure your baby is calm before bed is essential. Cool them down with a cool flannel before they drift off and consider playing soothing music or softly singing a lullaby to help them relax.

By following these tips, you can create a comfortable and relaxing sleep environment for your baby, ensuring they stay cool and content throughout the summer nights.
